I painted live at the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art in May 2011. My starting-point in the drawing was Anita Hegerland's song "I wanted to paint the world, little mom", whereby I want to honour and remember my parents.
My drawing was inspired by my mother's writings in her notebooks. I named the drawing "There were bilberries, but no lingonberries". The text is a quote from my mother's notes in 1983. The text describes facts but also reveals how important it is to reflect on - and be happy about - the treasures one has in life regardless if they are human relations, knowledge and skills or material things. The drawing also plays with people's interpretation of the artist's role and my own visions.
