In my artistic work, I am looking for truths about myself and the world around me. I make use of my own role as an artist vs. the society in my drawings and photographs. My artistic starting-point is the improvised drawing - by direct action, I get the most meaningful relationship to my work/art.
In drawing, I work with the sensitivity and rythm of line, which I often combine with an aggressive drawing technique. I am very much interested in the chain of events in drawing because it gives a feeling of freedom and anchors me in the present.
I have always taken photos of myself together with my works of arts in the studio. It offers a new perspective and an important reflection of my work. Furthermore, photography makes the relationship between the artist and his/her work of art visible - this is something that meets my desire for context.
